about coaching

Interested in a Personal Coach?

Could you use a trained professional to effectively work in the directions you chose to go?

Would you like to:

  • Have your efforts be consistent with your intent
  • Pursue goals that really matter to you
  • Find more balance in your life and work
  • Aim for social, physical, mental and spiritual well-being
  • Establish a firm foundation to build healthy attitudes and behaviors

The Coaching Journey – “you get to better places faster”.

When you take a trip, do you want to spend most of your time figuring out what you can explore and do? Or is your time valuable enough to plan with an experienced tour guide who can maximize your experience and get you to better places faster?

Coaches:

  • Help people set better goals and then reach those goals
  • Focus their clients to produce faster results
  • Provide the tools, support, and structure to accomplish more.
  • Listen, motivate, and challenge
  • Evoke new perspectives
  • Enable the client to reflect, analyze, decide and act

According to the International Coach Federation, Professional Coaching is an ongoing professional relationship that helps people produce extraordinary results in their lives, careers, businesses or organizations. Through the process of coaching, clients deepen their learning, improve their performance, and enhance their quality of life.

What is Coaching?

  • Facilitates insight and clarity through inquiry, reflection and personal discovery
  • Honors the wisdom, resourcefulness, and creativity with each client
  • Works with the whole person
  • Increases accountability and responsibility
  • Stirs people to accomplish more

Most coaches work with you 30-45 minutes a week, 3-4 weeks a month, for 3-6 months. Contact can be set up over the phone making it convenient for you to make the changes you desire.

The Coaching Relationship

  • A coach helps the client identify and clarify the priorities and areas for development.
  • Coaches partner with their clients to help them go from Point A to Point B and clients define Point B.
  • Coaches employ a diverse array of assessment, psychological, and behavior change tools to empower clients to take charge, connect with their deepest motivators, and learn how to grow and change.
  • Scheduled coaching sessions, weekly or as needed, by telephone or in person, for three months or longer help clients clarify where they want to go, and work with them to get there.
  • Clients make sustainable changes in self-understanding, self con-cept, and behavior.
  • Coaching is a method of supporting change and growth that blends proven techniques for behavior change with personal growth techniques in a process that helps people see where they are, where they want to go, and how to get there.
  • Having a coach can help a client move to a new place in their lives, and make lasting changes happen. Having a coach is particularly powerful when you decide to fully commit to making significant changes in one or more areas of your life.

Health and wellness coaches are skilled in looking at a bigger picture of wellbeing as well as the life issues that impact health issues. Wellness includes fitness, stress management, nutrition, weight loss, and health.

Wellness

  • Wellness is the quality or state of being in good health or my best possible health, especially as an actively sought goal.
  • Wellness is the condition of good physical and mental health, especially when maintained by proper diet, exercise, and life habits.
  • Wellness is the mastery of one’s wellbeing – physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual – through regular practice of healthful behaviors

Wellness Coaching
Wellness coaches work with individuals to help them improve all areas of wellness including fitness, nutrition, weight, stress, health, and management of the life issue that impacts wellness. Wellness coaches are health, fitness and mental health professionals (e.g. fitness professionals, dietitians, nurse, physical therapists, health educators, physicians, psychotherapists) who have also completed wellness coach training and certifications from leading organizations including Wellcoaches Corporation, in partnership with the American College of Sports Medicine.
